I am going to take a bit of time here early this morning to write about yesterday. Also to try to see if I can figure  out how to post some pics in here. This tech handicapped lady can’t always figure things like that out.
We left our motel and headed up the street towards town centro. Needed to find some breakfast. Found a neat restaurant where we had a good breakfast while swatting many little gnats. We soon realized they were leaving big red welts and we would leave here with souvenirs of El Fuerte!!!! We were offered bug spray which we gladly accepted. (And soon bought our own.) the town of El Fuerte is very old and there is much history there. Andrew had been begging for a haircut from a Mexican barbar so he got one this morning.  While he and Merv were off doing that, the rest of us walked around town looking at the beautiful hotels and museums. Ate paletas and drank cold cokes... and enjoyed the gorgeous plaza. There are tall palms, bougainvillea in full bloom of reds pinks, and whites...many other flowers and plants that I don’t know. Mandevilla... and fruit trees... Also many motorcycles darting here and there. The girls each bought a sunshade and Merv a hat...  Around one we got all our bags together and caught a bus, well a van really, to Campo Esperanza where we have a small congregation. There were around 20 seats in the van and they kept shoving people in. At one point we were at least 30 in their. At least there was some air movement! Might not have been cold air by there was moving air... after about 45 minutes they dropped us off at a small stop and we waited till here came Joel Luna in his small red car... he brought us to their place in two loads. No way we could all fit with all the bags. The family was soon out to greet us. They live in a cement/ brick home that is a very nice big size for here. A nice modern kitchen. She sells Tupperware so has lots of that around😊. She had lunch about ready for us so soon were eating. Us first and later then. They don’t have table space enough for everyone at once. They have Marvin who is 18, Ervin who is 14 and Joselyn who is 11 tomorrow. Very nice family.  Ok back to their house. Cement floors and tile on lots of them. Running water, modern plumbing. Plaster on the walls... A/C in one bedroom. Not sure about their bedroom.  Might have it there too. The yard: dirt, little bit of grassy stuff on one side. Big grapefruit tree right outside the door... avocado trees, huge mango tree in the back. Just absolutely loaded with mangoes. Too bad they are not ripe yet!:(. A mother cat with 4 scrawny kittens that I just have to close my eyes and let Nicholas play with. They are so skinny and you know they have to be wormy etc.  But I can’t just not let him play with em. He holds them and hugs them... they have a cage with rabbits... and a scruffy little dog who loves to catch a ball Nicholas throws for him.
Many other animals are seen wandering around the ranch. Goats, other mangy dogs, cows being herded along.
The children soon were using their translating apps to talk to each other. The neighbors who live much closer than most of us would be willing for, have two girls who are 16 and 13? Something like that. Beautiful girls who love to sing. Anyway they came over and the whole group except Andrew and Ervin left for the Rio. Phones in hand and hands moving and laughing and having a good time we youth will... one of the girls said they found out that some things are the same in any language. :) anyway they were gone the entire afternoon and into the evening. Joel’s and Adan’s (neighbors and bro to Joel) we’re getting worried. Even though we had communicated several times with them. They came running and laughing into the yard about 8:00. They had had a very good time. Hopefully cherith can write about all they did...
Went for supper to Adan’s. The youth sang for a while. Oh those girls have lots of songs and love to sing!
Oh yes I tried to do some wash here this afternoon. Got two loads through the washer and in the middle of the third, the water quit. Hasnt been water in there tap since. They have a tank on the roof that hey have filled for occasions like this so we could take cold showers b
