No sleeping in when roosters crow early and goats being noisy outside windows.!! The sun shone so brightly and the women were out sweeping their yards. We left Joel and Mabel’s around 10 maybe with Lucia, Eva, Marvin, and Joselyn. Walked to the bus stop and hopped on a old bus with a driver who obviously had somewhere to be in a hurry! We went pell mell over these bumpy roads. Screeching to stops to pack on more people. The 5 oldest kids got off the bus earlier than we did so the could walk to wal mart and buy some trunks. Someone had forgotten to put theirs in! The rest of us got off the bus in Los Mochis and had a little time to do some shopping in the stores there before the rest caught up with us and it was time to hop another bus for the beach. This one was one of the nicer small van- busses. Like the one the other day. But the A/C didn’t reach the clear back corner seat that I got stuck with. Took all my will power to overcome the attack of claustrophobia that wanted to grip me. There was absolutely no way to get out of that space!!!! For pry 45 minutes there I was. I lived. We got to the beach and piles all our stuff on one of the tables of one of the restaurants. Maviri Beach is so beautiful. The water just shone and sparkled. Sand was clean. Restaurants with thatch topped roofs over tables. Pelicans and sea gulls diving and screeching overhead. Vendors coming around with enormous armfuls of beach toys and tubes and kites, men trying to peddle candy and doughnuts and helados. Ice cream.  Spent quite a pile at the restaurant for some yummy seafood. Were out there until 5 when we cleaned up and caught the bus for home again. Back here at Joel’s I did a couple more loads of laundry and we had supper of nachos. Tried to all shower in turn with patience. Yes they have running water but it’s very slow and there is no hot water. And with me running water in the machine to wash, it made it even slower. Felt bad but had absolutely no choice! I am very thankful and yet feel quite little that we have the only bedroom with A/ C. The boys sleep in a room that is stifling hot and yet they haven’t complained at all. They do have a fan turned on them. These cement block/ brick houses just hold the heat in. It’s nice and cool outside in the evenings. Our Joel would have liked to have slept in the hammock last night.
